"Agave" Collection Rugs

ADN is thrilled to announce our collaboration with PROYECTOSMONCLOVA, one the leading and most important contemporary art galleries in Mexico. Along with PROYECTOSMONCLOVA we are launching our new division, AND Studio, focused completely on contemporary design.

As a first project in this collaboration, we are presenting the “AGAVE Collection”, which grows from the idea of turning all the residual disposed fibers from the mezcal industry into beautiful rugs. Trine Ellitsgaard, having profound knowledge of both the land of Oaxaca and the world of weaving, found a way to spin these disposed fibers and weave with them to make fantastic pieces of design.

This project has a special focus in the inclusion of women and elderly people from the indigenous Zapotec communities from Oaxaca involved in the production of each rug.

Each of these pieces is then part of a virtuous cycle of turning a problem into an opportunity, and turning waste into beautiful, timeless objects of design.

We are thrilled to be an integral part of these virtuous cycle and to have these rugs as part of the new collection of contemporary design exclusively for ADN Studio and PROYECTOSMONCLOVA.

The rugs are shown in the showroom in PROYECTOSMONCLOVA, visit us at Lamartine 415, Polanco, CDMX.
